Protected Areas - Transitional Arrangements End Today

Published: 7th December 2009

The HCA put in place transitional arrangements for the period between 7th September and 7th December for schemes which now fall within a "Protected Area".

If a Scheme was previously within a Newbuild Homebuy Rural Programme and a standard rural lease was being used, then the HCA permitted the RSL to continue to use this standard rural lease instead of adopting the new Protected Areas Lease.

The HCA would expect that any lease negotiations which commenced within the Transitional Arrangements Period above would now have been completed, or will be nearing completion, and therefore would require from 07 December 2009 (other than in truly exceptional circumstances) that Protected Areas leases be used.

Could you have schemes that are now within a Protected Area?
