Mace & Jones appoints two new young department heads

Leading North West law firm Mace & Jones is ringing further changes at board room level promoting two young partners to become heads of department.

Paul Raftery, aged 44, takes over the reigns of the 21 staff strong corporate team. Meanwhile Charles Tomlinson, aged 39, takes over leadership of the dispute resolution department which has 24 staff. Both Paul and Charles will have firm-wide responsibility managing operations across Manchester, Liverpool and Knutsford.

The latest changes in top level personnel follows Mace & Jones' appointment of 41-year-old Richard Corran as managing partner in December.

Paul joined the firm in 1997 and has more than 20 years experience of acting for public and private companies in a wide variety of merger and acquisition activity, corporate finance and fund raising.

Charles, joined the firm in 1996, and has more than 12 years experience of dispute resolution. He specialises in all aspects of construction (both contentious and non-contentious) and also real estate dispute resolution acting for some of the biggest firms in the industry across Britain.

The Mace & Jones board now consists of Richard Corran, managing partner, Lawrence Downey, senior partner, Carole Atkinson, family & private client, Martin Edwards , employment, Karl Jackson, real estate, Paul Raftery corporate Charles Tomlinson, dispute resolution.

Paul lives in Didsbury and has three children and a myopic support of Manchester United to keep him busy away from the office. Charles lives in Cheshire and has two young children to whom he is trying to instill his passion for rugby and cricket.
