Mace & Jones advises Huws Gray on series of acquisitions

North West law firm Mace & Jones has advised builders' merchants Huws Gray Limited - one of the biggest independent builders merchants in the North West - on a series of acquisitions.

The Llangefni, Anglesey based company has acquired five new companies, since February 1 this year as part of their continuing expansion program. All transactions have been led by Mace & Jones corporate partner Bruce Robinson, assisted by corporate associate Raza Abbasi and real estate specialist Helen Jones.

Recent acquisitions include Bolton based Bradshaw Builders Merchants (Holdings) Limited and its subsidiary company Bradshaw Builders Merchants Limited, Burscough Building Supplies Limited based in Burscough, Lancashire, Chesworth Building Services Limited, based in Tywyn, Gwynedd, Wrekin Building Supplies Limited based in Telford and Monkmoor Building Supplies Limited based in Shrewsbury, which takes Huws Gray's total number of locations to 27.

Bruce Robinson of Mace & Jones said: "These latest acquisitions are another stride forward in Huws Gray expansion plans."

Huws Gray was established in Gaerwen, Anglesey in 1990 and now employs a total of 325 people, including those employed by the recently acquired companies. The company is the largest independent builders merchant covering North Wales and the North West of England.

All the newly acquired companies have already been fully integrated and have adopted Huws Gray as a trading name. The combined business will have a turnover in the region of £61 million.
