Giant Deal for Mace & Jones

Corporate lawyers at Mace & Jones have completed a giant deal on behalf of one of the UK's fastest growing chains of tile stores.

Partner David Clinch and solicitor Andrew Phillips advised shareholders in Tile Giant on the sale of the business to Travis Perkins plc, a leading builders' merchant and home improvememt retailer.

Directors Mo Iqbal, Neil Kelly and Ansar Aziz are staying with Tile Giant to help take the business forward as it continues its growth strategy. Eleven new stores opened in the last year and 29 now operate across the North of England and Midlands.

David Clinch said: "This is a great deal for both sides, giving Tile Giant the financial clout to press ahead with its expansion strategy and establish itself as a leading player in the market. I expect they will continue their rapid growth to become a major force in a growing market place.

"Its new owner Travis Perkins already sells tiles and related accessories, mainly through Wickes, so the acquisition is a perfect fit, allowing them to move into a new distribution channel. I expect they will continue their rapid growth to become a major force in a growing market place.
