With offices in Warrington, Bridgend, Birmingham and Edinburgh, Multi-Tech employs over 150 staff specialising in engineering, design and project management services to the chemical, food, petrochemical, energy, recycling and pharmaceutical sectors.
Multi-Tech's key clients include National Grid; Northern Gas Networks; Scotia Gas; Wales and West Utilities; and Cargill.
The acquisition - Capita Symonds' sixth in the last 20 months - enables the company to further expand its offering in the process engineering sector.

Jeff Randles, Managing Director of Multi-Tech said: "The Multi-Tech Directors are extremely pleased with the acquisition by Capita Symonds. We are certain that we have secured a robust future for our loyal, dedicated and professional staff."
"The acquisition will be mutually beneficial, enabling both companies to further develop opportunities and markets in tandem. We are immensely proud of what Multi-Tech has achieved so far and look forward to hitting the ground running as part of Capita Symonds."
Multi-Tech was advised on the transaction by Manchester-based Chartered Accountants CLB Coopers and the Manchester office of law firm Mace & Jones.
David J Travis lead advisor, CLB Coopers, said: "We are delighted for both Multi-Tech and Capita as we believe this deal will provide increased opportunities for both parties; we wish the group much success in the future."
Paul Raftery, Corporate partner, Mace & Jones, said: "This was a cracking deal to work on. We were delighted to act for the Multi-Tech team and to see them rewarded for their efforts and vision."
