Who should attend?
Executive and non-executive directors and HR professionals with responsibility for supporting appeal panels.
Objectives:
At the end of this course delegates will be able to:
- understand the parameters and "what is at stake" when hearing appeals;
- understand the current structure of unfair dismissal law, statutory procedures and other claims which might result;
- understand the practicalities, evidential burden and how best to handle appeals;
- deal with any "tricky situations" which might arise.

- Summary of Unfair Dismissal, Statutory Procedures, Penalties and the like.
- What is an appeal?
- Appeal practicalities and best practice
- "Without prejudice" conversations and other tricky issues
Method of training:
Interactive sessions, quizzes, presentation and question and answer sessions
Length of course:
Half day.
